Back in 1887, the Santa Fe Railroad was the force behind the creation of Claremont. Later, Pomona College was established, and the founders wanted to create a college that reflected their New England heritage. Soon, the town also embodied a similar New England style, and today the town still holds onto its historical roots, creating a down-to-earth community.
